Not many of us know what type of skin we have and how should we manage it and the problems associated with it. The skin types determine the type of makeup products we can use and the effects of these things on our skin. You can determine your skin type from the basic skin types and then do a thorough checkup; your skin type will reveal itself.
Basic skin types
We all know that there are basically three types of skins
But none of us ever thought that these can be further divided by the intensity of each type. Oily could be slight to moderately to very oily, while dry could be very dry or less dry. Similarly, a combination skin could be drier and less oily or oilier and less dry.
So these three basic types are not enough to determine the right skin type that you have.
Things that affect the skin type determination
You cannot determine your skin type if you are having any medical condition. Use of makeups, bases, fragrances, abrasive scrubs and cleansing ingredients, oily creams, and lotions etc. these things make your skin more rough and dry and oilier as well respectively so the results might fluctuate.
How to determine the right skin type that you have?
Follow these simple guidelines to determine the right type of skin that you have. This method is more than closer to perfection.
- Wash your face with water to remove any makeup. Make sure that you have to product applied to your face. Wash it with soap with gentle caressing. Now rinse with water. Do not over wash since it causes dryness.
- Check out skin in the mirror. If it gets a light-tight, then you have a dry skin. If it gets shinier, you have oilier skin. Determine the pore size. A larger pore size means an oily skin while people who have small pores either have dry or combination skins.
- Dab it with a tissue at the T-Zone which is the area of nose and forehead to see if there is any oil.
- If you have a dry skin, apply a moisturizer that suits your skin. While, if you have an oily skin, cleansing is recommended day and night stop the oozing out of oil. Consult your dermatologist before starting any therapy to your skin.
